Yachtpedia is a reference guide, not a data business. This page describes exactly what we collect, which is very little.

In short: there are no accounts, no advertising trackers, and no profiling. The only personal data we receive is what you choose to type into the contact form. We don’t sell or share it.

Who is responsible

Yachtpedia is operated as an independent editorial reference. For any privacy question or request, write to helm@yachtguide.io. Operator details are set out on the imprint page.

What we collect

If you use the contact form

We receive the name, email address, subject and message you submit. The form is relayed by Web3Forms, a third-party processor, and delivered to our inbox. We use this solely to read and reply to your message.

  • Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to correspondence, and your consent in submitting it.
  • Retention: kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any follow-up.
  • Recipients: Web3Forms as processor, and our email provider.

If you simply browse

We run no analytics and set no advertising or tracking cookies. Our host, Vercel, records standard server logs — including IP address, browser type and requested page — for security and to operate the service. We do not use these logs to build profiles.

Stored on your device only

Two preferences are saved locally in your browser and never transmitted to us: your light/dark appearance setting, and any vessels you pin to the comparison tray. Clearing your browser storage removes them. See the cookies page.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.
  • We do not run advertising networks or behavioural tracking.
  • We do not require an account to read anything on this site.
  • We do not pass enquiries to brokers, yards or third-party marketers.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Because we hold so little, most requests amount to deleting an email thread — which we will do on request.

Write to helm@yachtguide.io and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

International transfers

Our hosting and form processing providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards those providers maintain.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will change with it.
